ELIGIBILITY: Only members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks are eligible to participate in this tournament. EVERY entrant will be required to exhibit his "paid up" membership card prior to the tournament completion. All scores of bowlers who are not bonafide Elks are ineligible. Entry fee is $20.00 per man per event. This includes $5 prize fee and $15 expense fees. Entry deadline for early reservations is January 1, 2008. Entries will be accepted until January 15, 2008. |

MORAL SUPPORT SANCTIONED: USBC members may participate in this tournament with award recognition automatically extended. Eligible non USBC members may qualify for USBC award recognition by purchasing an USBC associate membership card before participation. USBC - Associate Membership Card $21.00 ENTERING AVERAGES - CONDITIONS THAT APPLY:
Bowlers are responsible for verifying their own average, whether submitted by the bowler, the team captain or others. If the submitted average is lower than required and results in a lower classification or more handicap, the bowler's score is disqualified. If the submitted average is higher than required, prize winnings will be based on the submitted average. In the case of teams of two or more bowlers, the averages shall be combined to determine whether the correct total is higher or lower than the submitted total. All entrants are subject to re-rating in accordance with USBC Rule 319d & e (see USBC Rule Book for details). No tournament prize winnings during the previous 12 months need be reported. Tournament management reserves the right to re-rate any entrant prior to bowling. BOWLING OPPORTUNITIES: An Elk Bowler may bowl more than once in the team event**, however, only once in doubles and singles. A bowler after completing his team shift, may act as a substitute on another team shift. Scores by the substitute will be used in determining prize awards; however, scores registered the first time a participant bowls in a team even shall determine his or her all-event total. **Upon a paid in full entry that is timely received, bowlers are eligible to bowl twice in the team event only as long as there are no more or less then three (3) bowlers from the original team and two (2) different bowlers. Members of a team may only cash one in the team event. All events will be their first scores in the team event. (Rule 315 item a applies) DOUBLES-SINGLES EVENT - All bowlers entering the doubles-singles must enter in BOTH events. Doubles bowled first, then singles. HANDICAP PERCENTAGE USED: Each bowler shall receive eighty percent (80%) of the difference between his average and 220 in each event entered. Handicaps are calculated on an individual basis as per the USBC handicap manual. PRIZES: Prize fees returned 100% in cash and prizes at a ratio 1 out of 10. The champions in each event shall be determined by actual pin fall and will receive championship awards. Awards shall be given to the highest individual actual pin fall in each minor event. A sponsor's award shall be given to the sponsors of team champions in both actual and handicap divisions. (A special award will be given for each 300 game and 800 series bowled during this tournament.) First place handicap cash prize shall be figured on a percentage basis in the Team Event, Doubles, and Singles. Distribution of prize money will be determined by the tournament secretary. Awards shall also be given to the highest handicap pin fall in each minor event. Awards shall be given in the handicap doubles/singles for bowlers 62 years of age or older. USBC Awards: Any bowler who qualifies for a USBC Award must come to the tournament office after completion of bowling to fill out the application and sign it to receive it. SUBSTITUTION AND LINE-UP CHANGES: Only two substitutes are permitted on any team, one in the doubles, and none in the singles. ALL LINE-UP CHANGES MUST BE MADE AT LEAST 24 HOURS AND SUBSTITUTIONS AT LEAST ONE HOUR BEFORE THE SCHEDULED TIME OF BOWLING. A substitute must bowl in the same position as the bowler he replaced. There are no line-up changes permitted in the doubles. BOWLING TIME AND SCHEDULE: All shifts will start promptly at the time set forth in the official schedule. A copy of the official schedule will be sent to each team captain. ANY INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP OF INDIVIDUALS ARRIVING LATE SHALL BEGIN PLAY WITH THE SCORE TO COUNT FROM THE FRAME THEN BEING BOWLED (USBC Rule 322). THE TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE IS DESIGNED TO ALLOW FOR EACH BOWLER TO COMPLETE HIS TOURNAMENT GAMES IN THE ALLOTTED TIME. IF, THROUGH NO FAULT OF MANAGEMENT, ANY BOWLERS ARE NOT FINISHED WHEN THE NEXT SHIFT IS SCHEDULED TO START, THEY SHALL HAVE THEIR SCORES RECORDED AS FINAL AT THE TIME.
